Natalie Czar - Mrs. O’Brien
Natalie Czar (she/her) is so excited to be part of the pageant again this year! She is a local actor and singer and is a graduate of the MacEwan Theatre program. Some past theatre credits include Think Of Me: An Andrew Lloyd Webber Cabaret Spectacular (Scotty Productions), Scooby Doosical (Dammitammy Productions), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Grindstone Theatre), Erlking: A New Musical (Christopher Scott/Scona Alumni Theatre), Urinetown (Grindstone Theatre), HMS Pinafore (Opera Nuova). As a singer-songwriter and vocalist, she has performed in bands, ensembles, and in a solo capacity in various venues, festivals, and events locally and across Western Canada. Oh, Sacred Heart! There’s one more thing - Happy Holidays!!
Bob Rasco - Ralph Herdman/Edna McArtney
Bob is happy as a sugarplum to return as Ralph in this year’s production of The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant Ever!
A proud Edmontonian, he is a graduate of MacEwan’s Theatre Arts and Music programs. Bob is a founding member of Ribbit RePublic where he co-created,and performed in Grimmer than Grimm, Water, and Be A Man, and with whom he toured fringe festivals all across Canada. Some memorable roles have been Ringo Starr in The Four Lads Who Shook the World with Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown with Grindstone Theatre, and playing in the Skiffle Band and sharing Musical Direction with his musical cohorts The Be Arthur’s in Citadel Theatre’s production of One Man Two Guvnor’s.
Kayla Gorman - Beth O’Brien
Kayla is thrilled to be returning for her 15th year in The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant Ever! Born and raised on Treaty 8 territory in the city of Grande Prairie, Kayla is a graduate of MacEwan’s Theatre Arts program, and when she's not satisfying her deep love of spreadsheets and leasing docs by working in property development, Kayla has enjoyed performing locally over the years in shows, musicals, cabarets, and Edmonton's Fringe Festival - although her favourite thing to do is hangout with her pupper, Meeko. Kayla would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her never-ending shenanigans, and is wishing you and yours a very "Mary" Christmas!
Billy Brown - Leroy Herdman/Irma Slocum
Billy Brown is an actor and singer from Edmonton, Alberta. He is a graduate of MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts Program and the University of Alberta’s BFA in Acting. Previous credits include Grease (Western Canada Theatre), Jersey Boys (The Citadel Theatre); Ragtime: A Concert Performance (Theatre Calgary); Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow); Love’s Labours Lost (Freewill Shakespeare); Rumpelstiltskin (Alberta Musical Theatre Company). Cheryl Jameson - Imogene Herdman/Helen Armstrong/Director
Cheryl is so happy to be reunited with this incredible group of performers for this 15th annual production. Originally from Edmonton, Cheryl has had the good fortune to work with numerous companies, as well as with her own company Whizgiggling Productions over the years. Most recently, she was seen at the Fringe in the 4th installment of the Destination series Black Widow Gun Club, as well as in 100% More Girls musical Mass Debating. Earlier this season she had the honour of performing in Nuova Vocal Arts production of The Prom as the Broadway Diva - DeeDee Allan! Some favourite local productions include: Confessions of A Reluctant Caregiver (closed due to Covid-19), 4th Graders Present: An Un-Named Love-Suicide (Northern Light Theatre - Sterling Award recipient), 9 to 5 - the Musical (Citadel Theatre), Cabaret, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Rock and Roll Era (Mayfield Dinner Theatre), 2 Queens and a Joker (Guys in Disguise), Hey! Countess (Teatro La Qundicina), and Destination Wedding, Destination Vegas,Her Mark, Marked and World’s Wife (Whizgiggling Productions). Up next you can find Cheryl and her “Destination” ladies at the Fringe performing “Paloma & Joy” and, with 100% More Girls in “Carol of the Bells.” Cheryl would like to thank her incredible family; Taj, Trinity and Justin, for supporting her every time she joins the circus and YOU for supporting local LIVE theatre! Vicky Berg - Miss Vicky/Music Director
Vicky Berg is INCREDIBLY excited to play Miss Vicky in The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant Ever! This is her 7th year!!! 6th year? Who’s counting anyway… It’ll probably be the BEST YEAR! When she is not playing an elderly woman with a drinking problem, Vicky can be found playing around town in a number of bands, teaching music and keeping her cat, Lucy, from climbing the Christmas tree. Many thanks and much love goes out to the beautiful cast and crew of the BLNCPE and a big wet kiss goes out to Tim, for his never-ending patience and support.
Lindsey Walker - Alice
What a joy to be working on this awesome show - for 14 years now! Born and raised on Treaty 1 territory (Winnipeg), and currently residing in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton), Lindsey Walker (she/her) is an award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and theatre performer. Lindsey’s music has been described as “achingly sincere”, and “cinematic”. With her solo musical project, Lindsey is a recipient of the Edmonton Artist Trust Fund (2022), won an Edmonton Music Award for Indie Rock Recording of the Year (2018), has been shortlisted for the Edmonton Music Prize (2019), nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the Edmonton Music Awards (2018), was voted Best of Edmonton Solo Artist by Vue Weekly (2017), and earned distinction as a finalist in the Canadian Songwriting Competition (2018). As a theatre creator, Lindsey was awarded the Westbury Family Fringe Theatre Award to support the production of ren & the wake, an original semi-immersive musical that she created with Catch the Keys Productions. Most recently, Lindsey composed the music and lyrics for a one-actor musical called “Amor de Cosmos”, and has released a few Christmas tracks in time for this holiday season.
